Registration is now open for the 10th Global Ham Congress, which will be held at IFEMA-Feria de Madrid from 17-19 September. For further information please visit congresomundialdeljamon.es.

Madrid has been chosen as the venue for this year's biannual congress, to coincide with Meat Attraction, the leading trade fair for the meat sector. Entrance to Meat Attraction is included with the registration fee for the 10th Global Ham Congress.

Individuals, companies and organizations that are interested in participating will find a preview of the congress program at congresomundialdeljamon.es/inscripcion/, where you can also consult the registration fees and options that best suit your needs -such as student tickets or partial attendance- and complete your online registration.

The president of the congress, Julio Tapiador, has stated that “this tenth iteration of the congress offers an engaging program aimed not only at professionals in the sector, but at consumers, gourmands and lovers of Serrano and Ibérico ham as well.” He points out that “the presentations offered at the congress deal with topics such as sales, national and international marketing, nutrition, and the social impact of this food, among others.”

Full registration for the congress includes the three-day entrance fee, a congress bag, coffee, lunches and a formal dinner that will be held on 18 September.

For those who cannot or do not wish to attend all three days, half-congress registration is available for the 17th and 18th. This option includes all services except the formal dinner. Another option is to attend on the 18th and 19th, which includes all services as well as the formal dinner.

A cultural itinerary has been put together for registered visitors with the aim of providing a pleasant visit to some of the most emblematic sites in the city of Madrid for the accompanying companions of congress-goers.

The schedule of events is taking shape, and you will find a preview of the various presentations here. Confirmed speakers include scientists from the majority of European cured ham research centers, as well as experts in other areas such as promotion and sales.

The congress is international and participation is open to all types of markets, evidenced by the fact that several international cities such as Ourique (Portugal) and Toulouse (France) have hosted the event since its first edition in 2001. The previous iteration was held in Toledo en 2017.

About the 10th Global Ham Congress

The 10th Global Ham Congress will be held on 17, 18 and 19 September 2019 at Feria de Madrid (IFEMA), and will offer special content on this 10th anniversary.

It is the only sector event of its kind in the world, and it has been widely successful since its first iteration, held in Cordoba in 2001. It has been effective in gathering and sharing both the advances and concerns of the industry in a single forum, with the participation of more than 400 business owners and 150 researchers.

Objectives: to provide an in-depth analysis of the production, research and sale of ham; to present the latest news and trends on nutrition and gastronomy; to study specific areas of success and top marketing and sales tools that will help the sector to boost sales efficiency. With these actions, the Congress hopes to enhance the prestige of cured ham around the world, reinforce the relevance of a global benchmark sector and increase consumption.
