Daniel Canogar (Madrid, 1964) will be the guest artist at the next edition of the Estampa contemporary art fair, which will be held from 17-20 October at the IFEMA exhibition centre. The registration period will be open from 22 April to 15 June, so that galleries interested in applying to the fair can present their projects.
Daniel Canogar, a Spanish-/US artist of great international renown, has been researching new media since 1993 - from the projection of light through fibre optic devices to the sculptural twisting of LED screens - to reveal an analysis of the changes that technology has brought about on our society, on climate effects and the global economy, and the different social behaviours that all this entails.

Daniel Canogar, has produced several works in public spaces, in particular Waves which is a permanent feature in the atrium of the Houston Center in Houston; Travesías, produced for the atrium of the Council of the European Union in Brussels and Constelaciones, the largest photographic mosaic in Europe in the Madrid Río Park. Among his latest projects Storming Times Square, a video work shown on 47 of the screens of Times Square, stands out. His works have been exhibited at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Palacio de Velázquez, Madrid; Natural History Museum, New York; Andy Warhol Museum and Mattress Factory Museum, Pittsburgh, among others.

Estampa presents at this edition new curated sections. Firstly, Ángel Calvo Ulloa  (Lalin, Pontevedra, 1984) presents us with La conciencia de las cosas, a selection of galleries whose artists adopt an approach from a perspective of going back to the profession. Secondly, Bruno Leitao (Lisbon, 1979), under the title Meridiano Cero, will bring together a selection of Portuguese galleries that are introducing new ways of looking at exhibiting in Portugal. Finally, Alicia Ventura (Valencia, 1965), in a special section at Estampa, wants to rethink the current state of photography in our country, in a section entitled Qué pasa con la fotografía?

The ESTAMPA fair, which this year is again organised in collaboration with IFEMA at Feria de Madrid, remains faithful to its mission of creation, promotion and dissemination of art in our country, giving priority to Spanish and Portuguese collecting and exhibiting, to disseminate and promote it to collectors and professionals outside our borders through its international guest programmes. As usual, both the General Gallery Programme and the curated programmes will be assessed by a committee made up of private collectors, purchasing managers, and curators of contemporary art collections in our country.

This year, ESTAMPA strengthens our National and International Collectors Programme, with a special invitation to private collectors, collection advisers and managers, institutional directors, and market and collecting professionals from all over Europe . In addition, the residency and international curators programme, the Estampa 2019 Curatorial Programme, will be held for the third year running. Its main objective is promotion and communication for the artists represented by our galleries.

The prizes in purchases and residences, the meetings and professional forums, in addition to the programmes of visits and relations with the public will have a greater presence than at previous editions to stress the commitment of public and private collecting, and of our professionals to the art market in Spain.
